About

Commissioner Peter D. Hernandez was born in Havana, Cuba, and migrated to Madrid, Spain, before his family settled in Hollywood, Florida, as political refugees when he was eleven. He attended Apollo Middle School and McArthur High School, later earning his high school diploma and taking business classes at Broward College. As a small business owner, he has served on the Hollywood Commission for eight years and volunteered for several community boards and committees.
