City Manager James Reyes was sworn in as the new City Manager on January 12th, 2026, nominated by City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins. As City Manager, James is the city’s chief administrative officer, overseeing daily operations, more than 5,000 employees, and a $1.8 billion budget. Prior to this role, he served as Chief of Public Safety for Miami-Dade County and held senior leadership positions with the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
