Dr. Estella Edwards Shabazz was first elected to the Savannah City Council in 2011 and is currently serving her 4th term as the 5th District Alderwoman. Dr. Shabazz is now serving for the fifth year (and second term) As Mayor Pro Temp (Assistant Mayor) from 2020 to the present time. She was unanimously elected by her Council Colleagues in both terms to serve in this as the Mayor Pro Tem (Assistant Mayor).
