Sandie Smith has lived most of her life in Black Hawk County, Iowa, and graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School and Hawkeye Community College. She has been employed with Black Hawk County since 1989, working in the Recorder's office, and was elected Recorder in January 2015. She is a Certified County Recorder and has implemented technology to improve public access and efficiency in her office.
