Commissioner Bucher enjoyed a 37-year career with Bridgestone Firestone until 2001 when he retired and relocated to New Bern. He and his children founded three Family Tire and Auto Service locations in Eastern North Carolina. Commissioner Bucher served as a City of New Bern Alderman for 5 years, and has served as Director on several boards including Allies for Cherry Point Tomorrow.
