Tonya D. McDaniel assumed the position of County Commissioner for District A in 2018, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration. During her tenure, she has focused on promoting equity in property tax rates and county funding for school systems, inspired by her god-mother, the late community leader Earline Parmon. She also serves on various committees, including the North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council and the National Association of Counties Veterans & Military Services Committee.
