Crystal Buchaluk was elected to the Indian Trail Town Council in November 2021 for a two-year term to fill the remaining term of Council Member Shirley Howe. She was reelected to a four-year term in November of 2023. She was also renamed the primary delegate for the Centralina Regional Council at the December 9, 2025, Town Council meeting.
