Dane Scalise was first appointed to the Board of Commissioners in April 2023 and was elected to a four-year term from December 2024 to December 2028, also serving as Vice-Chair from December 2025. He is a husband, father, small business owner, lawyer, and insurance broker, and a graduate of UNC Greensboro and UNC School of Law. Commissioner Scalise has a background in public service, including as Deputy Commissioner of the NC Industrial Commission, and is actively involved in various community boards and pro bono work.
