Jean Hamilton holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill. She served on the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools Board of Education and has been involved in community and public health, later starting a private psychotherapy and counseling practice.
