Councilman Christopher D. James, a longtime resident of the First Ward and a career public servant, has proudly served East Orange since first being sworn into office in 2014. He continues a tradition of civic and community service, developed under the guidance of his mother, the late Maxine James. Born in Orange Township, he was raised and educated in Newark, New Jersey.
