Council President Luis A. Quintana is a trailblazing public servant with over 35 years of service to the City of Newark. Elected to the Municipal Council in 1994, he became the first Hispanic elected Council Member-At-Large and later the first Hispanic of Puerto Rican descent to serve as Council President and Mayor of Newark. Throughout his nine consecutive terms, Councilman Quintana has remained a steadfast advocate for the people of Newark, serving in numerous leadership roles.
