Christopher Schaljo-Hernandez was elected to the Doña Ana County Commission District 1 seat in November of 2022, taking office on Jan. 1, 2023. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Government from New Mexico State University in 2012 and has been involved in local and statewide politics. Commissioner Schaljo-Hernandez has served various community nonprofits and is a former chair of The Doña Ana County Democratic Party.
