Jerome Rice Jr. was elected Mayor of the City of Spartanburg on November 2, 2021, and was sworn into his second term on January 12, 2026. Prior to serving as mayor, he dedicated 12 years to public service as the District 5 City Councilman for Spartanburg, completing three consecutive terms marked by strong community engagement and leadership. Mayor Rice actively serves on numerous boards and commissions that support regional growth and community well-being.
