About

Arthur W. Baker, a member of Sumter County Council, was born on December 13, 1954, in Columbia, South Carolina. He is a 1973 graduate of Christ Church Episcopal School and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health and Physical Education from Lander College in 1982, followed by a Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina in 1990. He was a teacher and coach in Sumter School District #2 and was first elected to Sumter County Council in November of 1994.
