Shane McFarland was elected to the Murfreesboro City Council in 2006. McFarland was elected Mayor of Murfreesboro in 2014 and was elected as the youngest Mayor in the history of Murfreesboro. He has helped guide the 13th fastest growing City in the country with programs for renewed downtown development, recruiting corporate jobs, enhanced parks and recreation offerings, additional public safety facilities and a renewed focus on Customer Service.
