About

Sheriff Jose Quiroz moved to Arlington with his family when he was 5 years old, and his parents are proud immigrants from Honduras. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps before joining the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office in 2001. In January 2023, he was appointed Sheriff of Arlington County and was elected the 19th Sheriff in November 2023, becoming the first sheriff of Latino descent in Arlington County and Virginia.
