L.G. "Larry" Campbell Jr. was first elected to City Council in May 2008 and has served as Co-Assistant Pastor at Bible Way Cathedral Church since 1994. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Averett University and a Masters degree in Guidance from North Carolina A & T University. Reverend Campbell is involved with numerous community organizations, including serving as Vice President of the NAACP and founding the Wisdom in Networking Program.
