Council Member Shelley S. Butler Barlow was appointed to the Suffolk City Council in February 2021, representing the Chuckatuck Borough, and was elected for a full term in 2022. A long-time Suffolk resident, she farms with her husband at Cotton Plains Farm and has nearly 40 years of experience in agriculture. She is actively involved in various community groups and served on the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Board of Directors.
